Work Programme contractors published:
The Work Programme places claimants in the hand of private “welfare to work” companies for two years. They have been given the power to “tailor” what is mandatory for the claimant, which may be sitting in their offices for three days a week on “jobsearch” or long term unpaid work placements. Note there is no certainty from obtaining a job. A recent article in the guardian speculates there are 11 million unemployed rather than gov figure of 2.5 million taking into account those working part time that still (looking for full time work) cant afford to live.
End workfare and provide jobs
